Lots of shootouts, great dialogue (with the exception of Kathleen Turner's lines), romance in beautiful Columbia, a crazy drug dealer with an awesome Ford pickup, one truly evil bad guy, and Danny DeVito getting constantly beat up and rolled around. ... What do you get? One pretty good movie from the 80s.
Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner are Very Good together as actors in this movie.
Entertaining adventure. I didn't care for the blood and guns though...and the romance between Jack and Joan was entirely unconvincing. I didn't feel very drawn into the story.

I was shocked as i never knew what they were doing with the fire before. Kathleen Turner at her most hottest (even though she aint that hot in it).

The story is always silly throwback material - in this case, the search for hidden treasure by many different people, most of whom will kill to have it - but it is the performances that sell the movie. Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito are all perfect as hero, damsel and slimeball in a movie that has fun stunts, quick-witted dialogue and wonderfully classic romance. I love this movie.
A great Action/Romance/Comedy & there is wonderful chemistry between the main actors.
Not quite as good as I remember and with some plot holes you could drive a truck through, but still a fun adventure romp. The soundtrack is pure 80s.
One of the first action-comedies married to a romance, written with actual wit, verve and sparkle, complemented by two engaging leads. And it's FUN!

After all the Raiders rip-offs, it's fun to find an adventure film that deserves the comparison, that has the same spirit and sense of humor.full review
