something new in the superhero genre........with a adoring climax...........definitely one of best works of Shyamalan..

Seeing it again for the first time in five years, I'm reminded that this is still my favorite film from Shyamalan, but that his work is a lot less interesting outside the hype machine of the late 90s-early 00s. The film has a nice message about finding one's place in the world, but in the end is overwhelmed with the director's obvious use of color and "meaningful dialogue." That might make for a good comic book. But it only makes for an average movie.
Definitely Shyamalan's best. And that's saying something. I don't know how he can just set a camera there and let a scene go on and on and somehow you're completely involved and in the moment the entire time.

I personally love those movies having space for every characters, as in this movie, Bruce Willis wasn't as good as Samuel Jackson in the first half, but later, Bruce Willis did really good. Sameul Jackson should be specific in his roles selection, and keep himself away from the trash like Snakes on the plane. He's equally matched with Bruce Willis in this movie.
My absolute favorite M. Night Shyamalan film!! Great writing with a spectacular ending...absolute perfection!!
Truly a shocker of a story. Samuel L. and Bruce WIllis together is a treat.
As good as if not better than the sixth sense, this is a phemomenal movie about the legend and philosophy behind the superhero. Well written, brilliantly acted performances and trademark jaw dropping Shyamalan twist, this is highly recommended.
Critic Reviews
Thrill-kill plots, cardboard characters and zap-pow editing are not for Shyamalan, who takes his good, thoughtful time to snare audiences in his dark web.full review
Even if the ending doesn't entirely succeed, it doesn't cheat, and it comes at the end of an uncommonly absorbing movie.full review
Far-fetched and utterly humorless.
