BTW, watch it with subtitles. MUCH better than dubbed.

Rather long film (though not by todays standards, is it just me or have films started to become a lot longer over the years? I challenge you to find a recent film under 2 hrs...) but its rather nicley done. You just have to watch it.

(read more) An astounding beautiful martial arts epic, combining fantastically vast landscapes scored with a haunting cello, with astonishingly intricate fight scenes, performed and shot with an elegance and skill that puts anything made in the West to shame. Lee's skill as a director however, lies in combining the epic with the intimate, drawing wonderfully nuanced performances from Chow Yun Fat and Michelle Yeoh who comunicate a lifetime of repressed longing with a single look. Although the ending is frustratingly ambiguous, the rest of the film is still a visual treat not to be missed.

This movie is totally amazing. Great stuff. This movie is my favorite for a number of reasons. Mainly the self discipline and courage of each character. Something so alien to the western world. This is really one magnificent work of art.
