Honestly, not a great film. But it is really an enjoyable experience. If I had to classify this film in my book, I'd call it a "guilty pleasure." Give it a chance.
Pure garbage. Vamps coming from eggs? C'mon now, if your gonna mix folklores at least get them right.
Kate Beckinsale is really close to vampire image
But in this movie her acting is poor and can't help this movie
Hugh Jackman is also.. bad, I think this movie is a failure
Maybe ten years later someone will remake it?
Not very special, if not for the abundance of secundary stories to the whole Dracula thing. The effects are also top notch, so this movie is entertaining for the standard popcorn audience. Benar2 sangat mengecewakan!! Sangat jauh dari harapan gw. Cerita yg sangat hambar dan CGI yg sangat konyol membuat film ini sangat low quality!!! Mungkin inilah periode kelam dari karir perfilman Hugh Jackman dan Stephen Sommers!!!
I'm a bit of a Bram Stoker purist and can't appreciate the random offshoots from the original story. Blade meets Gargoyles or something.
I laughed so hard I cried during this movie. Granted, it was probably due to the fact I saw it with a bunch of friends, but if it was good there would have been nothing to laugh at in the first place.

Stephen Sommers directs this kind of film, just look at 'The Mummy', 'GI Joe' and others he has done. There is nothing bad about the acting, and Kate Beckinsale has 'Underworld' to pull out of her repetoire as a steal vampire movie. So no one should begrudge her role in this.
It's meant to be lighter-hearted with a slight pull from evil rather than the other way around.
volim filmova sa vampirima, cak i tres... ali ovaj me je posebno iritirao...

Critic Reviews
The horror flick, at its height, was a lyrical caressing of our fears; by the end of this nonsense, you fear for the well-being of the genre. 'It's dead!'full review
It's empty calories: There isn't a single nourishing, non-synthetic sequence in the entire movie. Not a scene. Not a line. Not a look.full review
This is what happens when you spend pots of money on special effects but don't give a fig about storytelling.full review
A gargantuan mess of a film, which substitutes special effects for story and has not a single redeeming moment in its two hour plus running time.full review
Despite the rococo obsessiveness of its special effects and its voracious sampling of past horror movies, Van Helsing is mostly content to offer warmed-over allusions and secondhand thrills.full review
More and more summer movies depend on relentless action sequences at the expense of coherent narrative, but Van Helsing might be the first whose overkill reaches nuclear capacity.full review
Perhaps the loudest summer film of all time, Van Helsing's apt to provide more migraines than nightmares.full review
