Also, the adaptation leaves a lot of the book out (or on the cutting room floor), presumably to play it safe.
this movie really scared me- he's unbelievably strong!..when i was a kid, i was afraid of people who don't exist and I'm still, but this movie showed me it may not be so bad if you are strong enough (I mean a brain built to solve problems)
"a mindbogling story of a mathematician who wrk in his course despite his pshycological problems. Amazing acing by Russel Crowe".
It was okay. Not sure why it won so many awards, but it was pretty decent. Story was a little wonky and the characters weren't very likable but I liked it for the most part.
A much more gentle role than perhaps we'd come to expect from Russell Crowe (following hot on the heels of 'Gladiator'). I recommend The Soloist as a much much more accurate, which also means it is a bit more disturbing and unconventional.
Es un excelente drama con un minimo toque de comedia.
El gran problema es que no tiene tanta gracia verla dos veces o más.
I tried but this movie did not hold my attention - couldn't finish it...sorry.
Amazing movie. I was required to watch it for a grad school class to do an MSE, and was glad I did. True story, which made it even more fascinating.

Roger Deakins' handsome cinematography gives the film the look of a leather-bound classic.full review
Sadly, Howard blands out in the final third, using old-age makeup and tear-jerking to turn a tough true story into something easily digestible. Until then, you'll be riveted.full review
The movie fascinated me about the life of this man.full review
The movie can -- indeed, should -- be intellectually rejected, but you can't quite banish it from your mind.full review
