Shrek and Princess Fiona return from their honeymoon to find an invitation to visit Fiona's parents, the King and Queen of the Kingdom of Far, Far Away. With Donkey along for the ride, the newlyweds set off. All of the citizens of Far, Far Away turn out to greet their returning Princess, and her parents happily anticipate the homecoming of their daughter and her new Prince. But no one could have prepared them for the sight of their new son-in-law, not to mention how much their little girl had changed. Little did Shrek and Fiona know that their marriage had foiled all of her father's plans for her future--and his own. Now the King must enlist the help of a powerful Fairy Godmother, the handsome Prince Charming and that famed ogre killer 'Puss In Boots' to put right his version of "happily ever after."

This one marked the beginning of the end for what could have actually been a great franchise. Like all the ones following the second installment, the overall moral of "true happiness can be found in just being yourself" is all but completely obscured by the amount of modern pop-culture references they could jam into it's running time.
Pretty fun. It isn't as good as the original, and the plot is full of lame jokes that make you moan in sheer pain, but over all, it isn't such a bad film.
The work on the animation is the only reason this doesn't only get a half star. I found the movie unwatchable.

The story was just lame and uninteresting along with the characters. Almost nothing happened this time around, it was like a bad rip-off of Meet The Parents without the comedy. I found it to be incredibly childish and moronic.
I lovethis movie, its fun, uplifting, and not a flop. The caharcters are great and Shrek is bigger than ever.
Hahaha! Just the MEMORY of this movie makes me laugh. I have always been a huge fan of the big green ogre since the first movie. Shrek 2 truly is a masterful piece of artwork that has made me laugh time and time again.
