Gerard Butler is not menacing enough in his role and he cannot sing well enough to carry these tunes. There are only two reasons to watch this movie: 1. Emmy Rossum, and 2. the amazing set design. It's a shame it wasn't a better film because it's great to look at.
I absolutely loved the rock voice of the Phantom and felt sorry for the guy, I felt his melancholy. Other than that I thought the movie was too long and boring.
Love the musical, not sure how the movie would be. Don't think any actor could possibly top Bob Guest, who was our Phantom of the Opera.
Good Cast, Very Good Adaptation of Webber's Phantom of The Opera but I like the Stage Musical Better!
I saw it at the theatre and it's an amazing show, with a brialliant storyline! However, I don't want my memory of it to be ruined if the movies isn't the same.
