Rinko Kikuchi has worked in theater, film and television. She was recently nominated for an Academy Award for her role in "Babel" alongside such stars as Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. For this same role she was awarded both National Board of Review Award for Best Breakthrough Female Performance (tying with Jennifer Hudson) and the Gotham Award for Best Breakthrough.
