Originally, James Neville Mason planned on being an architect- but discovering acting on a lark he pursued it instead. Mason got started on the stage, but eventually started doing film as well. A tendency to turn down no role kept him busy his entire life- with a lengthy career spanning genres and qualities. He passed away in 1984.
