For her roles in Inside Moves (1980) and Mommie Dearest (1981), she became the first actress ever to go from being an Oscar nominee to a Razzie "winner" in just one year.

In mini-movies, she won an Emmy nomination playing "First Lady" Bess Truman in Truman (1995) (TV) and later played Rose Kennedy in J.F.K.: Reckless Youth (1993) (TV).

Graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and Pace University's Theatre Arts Program.
