This way better than Ender's Game. Which was amazing. The humanity in this novel makes it worth the read. The Climax and the revelations of the mystery sneak up on you. I ended up reading for a four hour stretch which has not happened in a very long time.

Really interesting book. I think anybody who is trying to get a grasp on the necessity of their own reason for art will find this book really enlightening. It's not a "how to" book at all. Instead it asks the question "Why do people STOP making art?" and attempts to address the reasons.

It's a short book and gets directly to the point, the authors do not attempt to impress you with a lot of big words and abstract ideas but instead use provable hypothesis and a number of anecdotes, which is a welcome relief in writings about art.
The best part of the book is that the reader will soon see they are not alone when it comes to the questions about their drawing, writing, music etc. and that the questions are asked by many an artist, only perhaps, in different ways.
I recommend it to everybody both artist and "non" artist (if there is such a thing.) (show less)
