Reviews I've Written

  • The Monkey Wrench Gang
    Edward Abbey

I love this book. Any good liberal environmentalist like myself would. I was reading it while I observed the urban sprawl that is proliferating throughout the Sierra Nevadas. This book is funny, real, and chaotic. A stick-it-to-the-man commentary that I appreciate. J

  • The Things They Carried
    Tim O'Brien

Tim O'Brien is great. True to life account of Vietnam. The writing is poetic and he doesn't pull any punches. Hard to read at times because of the unrelenting reality. I loved it.

  • Thou Art That: Transforming Religious Metaphor
    Joseph Campbell

Joseph Campbell is my favorite. This is a thoughtful and important read. I tend not to take anything, including The Bible, too literally. A thoughtful look at the interpretations and influence of symbol and metaphor in myth and Christianity.
