If you like true crime this one's pretty good, especially if you've ever lived in Waco. The book details the Lake Speegleville murders that happened in Waco just a few years before I went to Baylor. So while reading the story, I recognized all the landmarks and was familiar with some of the places mentioned. I also had been a volunteer at the Methodist Children's Home where some of the book takes place so that was interesting to me too. The story is sort of macabre, yet my favorite part of re... Fascinating book with true accounts of the Matawan, NJ, shark attacks from the early 1900s that inspired the movie Jaws. Most interesting is the attack on several people in Matawan Creek that happened several miles inland from the beach in a semi-freshwater tidal creek. At the time they thought the perp was a great white shark, which is unlikely but not unproven either. Mostly likely a bull shark. The book also goes into the design/anatomy of various sharks in addition to being an interesting... (show more)

I liked this. Liked his description of what he saw and heard in Heaven. That alone was worth the read. Incredible how God has used the negative part--severe injuries, long hospital stay, total dependence on others--to strengthen his ministry and impact the lives of others. A fascinating read.
