Careless Whispers (St. Martin's True Crime Libr...
Carlton StowersIf you like true crime this one's pretty good, especially if you've ever lived in Waco. The book details the Lake Speegleville murders that happened in Waco just a few years before I went to Baylor. So while reading the story, I recognized all the landmarks and was familiar with some of the places mentioned. I also had been a volunteer at the Methodist Children's Home where some of the book takes place so that was interesting to me too. The story is sort of macabre, yet my favorite part of re... The book also goes into the design/anatomy of various sharks in addition to being an interesting... (show more)

90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death &am...
Don PiperI liked this. Liked his description of what he saw and heard in Heaven. That alone was worth the read. Incredible how God has used the negative part--severe injuries, long hospital stay, total dependence on others--to strengthen his ministry and impact the lives of others. A fascinating read.
