Shanghai Girls: A Novel
Lisa SeeInteresting. Not as good as the other novels I've read by See. I liked it for some of the same reasons: I felt like a learned a bit about another culture and another time. In the end, it is a lovely story about learning to love and appreciate your circumstances.

The Beach House
Jane GreenDisappointing. It's a great idea, and I like Green's writing. But, about halfway in, it became so predictable that it was comical. Bleck.

Perfection: A Memoir of Betrayal and Renewal
Julie MetzMemoir about a marriage that wasn't what she thought. It was terrific. I really liked this woman, and her account of what she learns is so honest and scary and gut wrenching. Loved it.
