Engaging and full of interesting details, from politics to struggles with every day life. Politics: puts today's posturing in perspective (it's nothing new); Country relations: I never realized the significance Holland and Morocco had on the legitimization of the US as an independent nation; Friendships: how hard some of our founding fathers worked to maintain friendships even after terrible slanders; Family: Abigail was a force unto herself and the results of their child-rearing are so simil... One thing I wish the author had looked into - what did Einstein think of evolution (if he did at all), if he so strongly believed that God does not play dice? He spent the last several decades of his life trying to disprove the underlying concepts of the quantum physics field that his work generated, and was clearly unsuccessful. (show less)

Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin

Every chapter left an impression and a lesson that is not likely to fade quickly. I will probably re-read this book at some point.
