What to Say When you Talk To Yourself
Shad HelmstetterGood book. It goes beyond other books and teaches Self Talk. Most other self help books don't give the underlying way to change your subconscious. Without changing the subconscious habits or thoughts that cause us to sabotage ourselves, we are doomed to fail. Self Talk is a simple but very effective way to alter your subconscious. Helmstetter gives the 'how' in a forthwith manner and explains what to expect.

Angels & Demons
Dan BrownA very enjoyable fiction novel. It had a number of interesting facts so I did learn a few things from reading the book.
Also, Dan Brown also presented a some very interesting questions about faith and science. Are faith and science exclusive? Can science prove faith and the existence of God? Does this war still rage and can the two coexist in harmony? Has faith lost its place in the world? Even if you can explain everything, will what is explained loose its wonder? Is it better to have some ... (show more)A very enjoyable fiction novel. It had a number of interesting facts so I did learn a few things from reading the book.

I am Catholic and I should point out the book presents a skewed view of the teachings of Catholicism in regards to science. The Catechism view is very much in agreement with the view that Dan Brown presents as Galileo's. Science and faith are compliments in the mission to seek God. God is Truth and both, science and faith, enable man to seek Him out. Science reveals to us God's majesty and rules. Faith guides us and steers us to the proper use of the gifts of science.
Despite the distortion, the book is very fast paced, full of interesting facts and exposes the reader to some very deep questions. If it makes you think about those questions, great. Do not take fiction as reality and enjoy a good ride. (show less) -

The benefits of natural breathing are a clear mind, less anxiety, and more energy. All of these are prerequisites for eastern spiritual practices and can be beneficial to a Christian wishing to more fully enter a prayerful mind. As well, these benefits can be used to as foundation for techniques of martial arts and more advanced disciplines of breath work.
While this book does touch on some the eastern thought and spirituality, its main focus is better breathing. More advanced students of breathing disciplines may find the material redundant, however, the uninitiated will find the book useful. I found with a few days of gentle effort the benefits promised, even in a high stress environment (show less)
