Second Treatise of Government

Reviews I've Written

  • Atlas Shrugged
    Ayn Rand

I had gotten through 2/3 of it, but I got the gist of it. That being, Rand to government: "don't tread on me."

  • The Partnership: A History of Goldman Sachs
    Charles D. Ellis

Great book, but could have some more on the financial deals. It did cover quite a bit of Henry Paulson's reign and it noted that he did not trust the market, nor truly understand it. That latter part seems to becoming apparent now.

  • Walden and Other Writings
    Henry David Thoreau

Thoreau writes very candidly and makes for an entertaining read. He's also an anarchist to my surprise, my favorite quote is

"I heartily accept the motto, 'That government is best which governs least'; and I should like to see it acted up to more rapidly and systematically. Carried out, it finally amounts to this, which also I believe ' That government is best which governs not at all'; and when men are prepared for it, that will be the kind of government which they will have."
