The White Tiger: A Novel
Aravind Adigai liked the socio-political point the author was trying to make about the hypocrisy od class relations in india, especially since i read the book while immersed in middle class delhi, but was not impressed with the writing itself.

Half of a Yellow Sun
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichieso incredibly educational as to the biafran war, a strong political statement, couldn't put it down, but felt a bit emotionally overwrought here and there, in a way that oddly reminded me of "the thorn birds." loved the way the story was structured in a A-C-B-D order.
