Fields of the Fatherless
C. Thomas DavisIt's been over two years sense I've read this book written by Tom Davis. Something I would not normally read but for some reason, that day, I did. From the first page I was moved as my heart connected to a world and a cause that has forever changed my life.
From that day, I was then led to help the orphans of our world but it wouldn't be until September 2007 that God would further connect them to my heart. While on a trip with my husband in Dakar, Senegal, in West Africa as we walked... (show more)

From that day, I was then led to help the orphans of our world but it wouldn't be until September 2007 that God would further connect them to my heart. While on a trip with my husband in Dakar, Senegal, in West Africa as we walked through a town so poor, I could hardly believe. It was then that I saw a tiny boy, covered in dirt, looking up at me with eyes so haunting it's image still burns fresh within my mind. That day God sealed this cause within me to even try to understand.
I would encourage anyone to read this book who has a true love for children. For it's that powerful love that God is using to help them; the helpless and homeless children around our world today. Then may God bless you for your tender heart to help those who are tender, and in desperate need of our love and touch. (show less)

For fear is the opposite of faith, and it's faith that is the only means by which God can react to answer prayer. Also fear comes via the things one does not understand, nor believe to ... A very informative book but not one for the young believer. For Mr. Prince deals with mature subject matter that only a well seasoned, mature Christian can process to understand. A good example would be if one becomes fearful while reading Biblical truth that deals with the demonic realm within our world. For fear is the opposite of faith, and it's faith that is the only means by which God can react to answer prayer. Also fear comes via the things one does not understand, nor believe to be true. I would encourage that the new Christian continue to build their faith in God via prayer and daily Bible study. Then once the Christian arrives at a level he or she feels comfortable, and one which God is ready to move into somethng much deeper to understand, then the Christian is ready for this book.
