Reviews I've Written

  • Messenger
    Lois Lowry

Overall Messenger was a bit of a let down. The world created by Lowry, while expanded upon, was not explored to the extent that it should have been. That in combination with a rushed ending, and a weak plot caused the book to fall far short from the potential set by Gathering Blue, and particularly the Giver.

I've yet to read the sequel to this book, but as it stands on its own it's a bit lacking. The book shares a certain quality of The Givers, however, the plot was fairly predictable and anticlimactic. Worth reading, but nothing too special.

    Khaled Hosseini

I was a bit reluctant at first to read this, just because it didn't seem like something I could get into, but in the end I'm glad I did. Definitely a book which everyone should be able to find some value in.
