Reviews I've Written

  • Love in the Time of Cholera
    Gabriel Garcia Marquez

I love Garcia Marquez, but wasn't so keen on this book. A lot of his stylistic nuances were there, but I could not relate to the characters. They were wholly unlikable and no matter how much Florentino wanted to get with Fermina, I didn't think she would go for it, didn't think he deserved her, and by the end really didn't even want them to end up together. The writing was still great, but the characters spoiled this for me.

  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
    J.K. Rowling

Bad. Just bad. There were some necessary pushes in the right direction here, but some that didn't need to happen. My biggest complaint, though, was that I wanted to reach through the pages and slap the crap out of Harry. Ranks 7th of the 7.

  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
    J.K. Rowling

This one was great, not only because of the relevance and movement of the entire story line, but because the independent events of this one are exciting and keep you engaged. Ranks in the top two of the series.
