An admittedly limited and 'biased', but nonetheless indispensable, look at the 'other side' of American history. Zinn is honest about his convictions throughout the book, something which may hurt the historical 'objectivity' of his account, but does allow the overall tone be one of hope rather than despair. "A People's History..." is not anti-American, as some of its critics like to say, but instead strives to speak to the promise of what America can and, hopefully, will someday be.
