A very hilarious collection of pranks that were truly enlightening! This RE/SEARCH feature is not just a gallery of daring deeds and scandalous intrigue, but more a philosophy book of sorts that reveal the art and philosophy of the prank. I have now come to disapprove of "April Fools Day" because it institutionalizes acts of pranking and nefarious mischief. Pranks are the opposite of institutions. Pranks are made to challenge institutions, conventions, and the status quo. "April Fools Day" is just an antithesis and this is the first "April Fools Day" that I will put aside my devilry and read The Bible or something! This books is fantastic! I pretty much agreed with Friedman on most of the issues that are brought up in this book (he even persuaded me to switch positions on a few) but, I do have to disagree with him when he says that we shouldn't license doctors and when he also says that national parks shouldn't have happened. But, what's the use of having a mind if you blindly follow people right? Throughout the book the reader has to keep in mind that he wrote this in the early 60s because some of his ... (show more)

Throughout the book the reader has to keep in mind that he wrote this in the early 60s because some of his examples are outdated but, it's not hard to come up with examples from recent memory.
