Reviews I've Written

  • Julie and Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously
    Julie Powell

As most of you know, from my status updates, that I was very disappointed by this book. I thought it was going to be good, I mean the story line was right up my ally. But, alas, the writer and herione of the book was not someone I would waste the few precious minutes of my spare time on. Dirty mind and dirty mouth, that's all I have to say.

  • Northanger Abbey (Modern Library Classics)
    Jane Austen

I am re-reading this, and others in my Austen library.

  • The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt's Darkes...
    Candice Millard

This was a good book. I hadn't really read much on the adventurous life of T. Roosevelt, but since it was set in the Amazon, I wanted to give it a try. The book details the expedition of Teddy Roosevelt and many others, including his son Kermit, down an uncharted river in the Amazon. The voyage nearly cost Roosevelt his life. The only downside to the book is that the author is a little dry at times, but if you like biographies, it's a good read.
