A truly amazing novel. I savored and enjoyed every page. It reminded me of The Thorne Birds somehow. This is something that will be on my pile of comfort, re-readable books.
A good intro to fantasy book, especially for those who might find Tolkien tedious and boring. A bit lacking in terms of war descriptions though. Still, I think Pug is one of the more likeable characters of fantasy.
All the literary references were fun at the start, but got a wee bit too distracting, annoying, and pretentious towards the middle. Still, a fun read, and until now, I'm still figuring out who killed Hannah Schneider.
A bit long winded at the start. Impressive world building. I knew I shouldn't have started this series because now I'm going to have to read the next one, and the next, until I again come to the point where I have to wait for the next unfinished installment. Still, Erikson's pace in churning out books has been more favorable than some, so I look forward to more adventures in his world.

Serious reading. Brilliant material. Don't start if you don't intend to finish in one sitting. It's that hard to put down.
It starts really slow, and for some reason, I didn't really connect with the characters. I wish there was more time devoted to Anne's training at the coven instead of all this waking power/magic inside of her. Reminds me of Robin Hobb.
Well, it gets repetitive after a while, but still more entertaining than most. Sometimes, I wish Bella had chosen Jacob though. Edward is booooring in this book.
The first chapter was gripping. I thoroughly felt Bella's pain and could relate to her numb, "dead" state when Edward left. Alice is turning out to be my favorite character in this series, and I'd love to have Jacob for a brother. Ignore all the mush and it's a great follow up to Twilight. My heart is still heavy for Bella's pain.
