I've owned this book for many years but it's time to toss it. I'm no longer much interested in the travelogue thru the African past and the back story is hardly worth following. I end up skipping much of the descriptive parts that have no real contribution to the story. If you are a student of paleontology, it might be fun.

I bought a couple of these "Alex McKnight" paperbacks to read on airplanes or on the beach but they are just not worth keeping. Reading one of these on the beach is too depressing.
Toss them.
