Reviews I've Written

  • The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle: A Novel
    MurakamiHaruki, Haruki Murakami

A phenomenal book. One of my new all-time favorites. Murakami paints a detailed, intricate picture and then proceeds to take it apart. The way he weaves different storylines and characters in and out of the book is nothing short of ingenious. An idea will be left unexplained, only to re-emerge three hundred pages later as a critical plot device. I highly, highly, highly recommend this book.

  • Enemy at the Gates: The Battle for Stalingrad
    William Craig

An epic yet factual recounting of the massive siege of Stalingrad. A must-read for anyone who enjoyed the film adaptation of the same name, and anyone looking for a little more understanding into the battle that took tens of thousands of lives on both sides.

  • When the Bough Breaks (Alex Delaware)
    Jonathan Kellerman

A dark, suspenseful debut novel. Kellerman's first published work of fiction, this novel has all of the elements of his future novels. It was wonderful to get so much backstory into Alex and Milo, since I'd read many of his other novels before this one.
