Reviews I've Written

  • At Home in Mitford (The Mitford Years, Book 1)
    Jan Karon

So easy to read, with meaningful verses sprinkled throughout. The character development is perhaps the best I've ever encountered in a light series. I'm already dreading finishing this wonderful series.

  • Into the Wild
    Jon Krakauer

I've never read Into Thin Air, Krakauer's more popular novel, but after reading "Wild," "Thin Air" is on my list. Main character Chris abandons conventional living for something that at first seems foreign to most of us. As more of the story unravels, bits and pieces of his story hit closer to home --- that is, I find parts of myself in Chris' story.

  • Bee Season: A Novel
    Myla Goldberg

Character development is extensive, but that what makes the ending really mean something. So glad to read an intricate novel that, unlike many bestsellers today. doesn't involve torture, dramatic abuse, etc.
