    A titanic accomplishment for me. Learned about Crocodopolis and the Scythians from the man Herodotus himself. Took about 40 hours on coaches to England and the Netherlands to do it, but I am glad I did. Its the perspective it gives. Its the rough guide to the cradle of civilization, full of totally useless tourist tit bits now all that is left is ruins. Glad I read the Persian history first though, it gives me even more than 'nuff respect for them. The story of Croesus' ruin is my own f... (show more)
