Reviews I've Written

  • The Awakening
    Kate Chopin

I actually really enjoyed it. The language was beautiful.

  • Frankenstein
    Mary Shelley

Eh - wasn't that excited with it...but it did make more sense than the Boris Karloff movie. The whole monster narrative in the middle with his "beloved family" was a little overdone and somewhat of a snooze fest.

  • Pride and Prejudice
    Jane Austen

I really don't have much to say about it that will do the book any justice. It took me nearly 2 months to complete (reading a chapter or two a night before bed...usually falling asleep and not getting very far). Everyone said that I would fall in love with Mr. Darcy. While he was great, I loved Lizzie more. Every suggestion that Austen makes about attitude, self-respect, relationships, shame, marriage, and family is still 100% true today.
