Reviews I've Written

  • Fortunate Son: A Novel
    Walter Mosley

I will begin by saying that Thomas Beerman was a sweetheart through and through. His character had so many negative issues, however, I never thought of him as a criminal, murderer or any other name that he was guilty of. I don't know how Walter Mosley did it, but he was able to keep Thomas Beerman so innocent and sweet. His brother Eric Nolan was also sweet and very caring to Thomas. It turns out that Eric seemed to be the "Fortunate Son", but he really wasn't. He had a better up-bringing than Thomas, but he wasn't as insightful as Thomas was. One thing I wanted more of was Mama Branwyn. She was referenced alot, but I wanted her to be their for both her babies, especially Tommy. All in all, this was definitely a great book. All of Tommy's close calls with death had me nervous, but Im glad he pulled through. Even his "alley valley" had some sort of peace to it. ;) (show less)

  • Diablerie: A Novel

IT WAS SO SO BECAUSE THE MAIN CHARACTER WAS SO DEPRESSED THAT I DIDNT WANT TO CONTINUE BUT I DID. THE MOST EXCITING THING WAS ABOUT THE CHARACTER STAR AND THEIR PAST IN COLORADO.

  • Midnight: A Gangster Love Story

READING "MIDNIGHT" REALLY STEPS UP YOUR COMMON SENSE PERCENTAGE BECAUSE HE WAS NO FOOL...FOR ANYBODY. I ADORE THE CHARACTER MIDNIGHT. IM STILL REFLECTING ON THE BOOK DAILY. ALL THE FELLAS NEED TO READ IT. YOU COULDN'T TELL ME THAT THIS WONT ADD TO YOUR DEMEANOR. THE OTHER ASPECT I LOVED WAS HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH AKEMI. TO HAVE TREATED HER SO DELICATE WITH ONLY KNOWING HER SO LONG WAS BEAUTIFUL. THE FACT THAT THEY WERE MARRIED WAS SO MAGICAL AND PRECIOUS FOR ME. I CANT SEE AN... (show more)

TO HAVE TREATED HER SO DELICATE WITH ONLY KNOWING HER SO LONG WAS BEAUTIFUL. THE FACT THAT THEY WERE MARRIED WAS SO MAGICAL AND PRECIOUS FOR ME. I CANT SEE AN ASIAN GIRL NOW AND NOT THINK OF AKEMI. ONE VERY UNFORTUNATE THING IS THAT IN "THE COLDEST WINTER EVER" IT SAYS THAT UMMA PASSES AWAY AND THAT MADE ME HEARTBROKEN. UMMA WAS BEAUTIFUL IN EVERYWAY I CAN THINK OF. HOPEFULLY, MIDNIGHT AND AKEMI ARE UNITED AGAIN AS MAN AND WIFE AND THEY GROW THROUGH EACHOTHER. THEIR CHARACTERS ARE TWO THAT I FIND INTRUIGING. LOVE (show less)
