One of the most captivating and beautiful books I have ever read.
A great concept, but it was slow and difficult to get into. I did, however, love the main character!
Classic Bryson! Lots of good laughs with a bit of history for our edification.
I received this as a gift after I had been living without a car for a year, so I already knew much of this. Still, Balish makes some nice arguments and I would encourage people to read this, then give up their car.
A strange, but interesting book. It can be a bit slow at times.
Fairly funny, quick read. It was good for a while, but I think the main character comes off as an arrogant jerk towards the end. Left a bitter aftertaste.
It's a beautiful love story based on a very original idea of time travel. Unfortunately, I think the pacing was a bit off. The first part tended to drag with the conceptual introductions, while the second part was rushed leaving several loose ends and inconsistencies. Fairly fun, though, with a powerful emotional impact.
Grim but gorgeous. Beautifully written with a minimalistic, almost poetic delivery. Really, just amazing. Read it.
It's a promising premise, with a disappointing execution. I can't say much about the entire novel, because I was too bored and uninterested to finish it.
