Are you Catholic? I grew up with Jesuit priests my whole life and they are quite different from diocesan priests. Especially here in the south, where i have recently moved. I miss the Jesuits!
Hi,
Just curious, like some other collegues, who is this interesting "?"... I makes us wish to be able to interact more with such a serious mind... You definitely have the "deepest" book collection around here. Impressive. Have a nice journey! K.
An interesting selection of books. I think you might find 'Acceptance of the Other' by the Egyptian intellectual Dr. Milad Hanna a worthwhile read. Again, it is about historical prejudices and contains fascinating facts about the beginnings of the major religions, especially in the Middle East.
Very eclectic collection! You seem to be a very serious student of the Bible.

O'Malley traces out the historical prejudices that have caused historians to read Catholic developments in terms of Protestant ones, rather than seeing 16th-century Catholicism for what it was: A complex, many-sided Church with reformist elements, with backward looking ones, with steadily evolving trends in piety and the intellectual life. Lucid and pungent.
A very brief but precise study of the basics of Jesuit spirituality.
O’Malley's great gift is not just the balance of his historical judgment and the lucidity of his prose, but his ability to put things in context -- to see the forest for the trees.
Contains some of the most important documents dealing with the late Middle Ages and early Modern periods.
This is the greatest contribution to the architecture of Gothic cathedrals ... not only explores the historical development, but also gives valuable insights into the theological importance of that architecture in everyday Christian living.
For Westerners to get a grasp on the development of Byzantine theology.
