Book Club

This one got under my skin. Is it just me, or did it lose something in the translation? I read it through twice and understood it better the 2nd time. The spare, haunting quality of the writing intrigued me. The universal question of what it means to be human (amidst and beyond the barriers we impose on ourselves and others) was simply but beautifully dealt with.
