This was the first ever novel by this author that I read, even though I read the short stories that this author wrote way back in college when I was an English major I could never get into them. I would have to say that I am now a huge fan of this author's novels for I was actually drawn into these books and I debated on buying this one and the one that followed it but I didn't and now I regret that. For now that I realized how good this one was I wished that I had the second one so that I could find out what happened next with the characters. My heart actually ached when Rabbit's life in this book had the sorrowful moments and I had to smile when the good moments returned. I would have to say that this author did a great job and I hope to locate many many more books by this author.

This book was just as amazing as the first and I love finding out more about the characters and their inner conflicts for it makes the characters feel as if they are real or based off of real people. It made me ache when the characters had hard times befall them but root for them when the good times came back. It made me have the urge to LMAO when Rabbit and Stavros met up at the restaurant to talk and I thought it was hilarious that Rabbit and his wife's lover were in the same room. I would have had to say that that situation was totally ackward but it was a riot and barrel of laughs in the way that it was written. I also have the third and fourth book of this series and all I can say is that I am so glad that I do for they are so amazing. I know that I may have only read Updike's short stories in English class but now that I read the novels I definitely like the way the guy writes. I have been drawn into this book just as i was for the first two.

This book was awesome and I would say that this one made me actually break down and laugh for Rabbit was once this average guy and now he's trying to be the average rich guy. It is a hoot and a half to see all that he is trying to do in the car business. I would have to say that this book was able to depict Rabbit as someone who developed great growth in his life since the very first book. This book made him look as if he had his life together while the first two books made him look as if he was a pain in the ass and the major factor of all the bad stuff that happened to him. I know that this book was the best by far and I still have to read the final book in this series and all I can say is that it is a-maz-ing.

This book was the great way to end the Rabbit series for I thought that it did a great job on concluding and telling all of what happens with all of the characters that were in the series and I love knowing all about how the characters had reached the concluding point in their lives. this was another book that I finished in the 24 hour time frame and it is a book and a series that I would seriously recommend to people. I thought it was great how John Updike created his characters and the settings that each of them fit so perfectly for. I couldn't help but love this sereisn for I thought it was utterly amazing and I know that I cannot wait to find more books by John Updike to see if his writing style is the same way in his other books. I hope they are for they are pretty exciting.
