My boyfriend has the more recent edition (2006 75th anniversary version) and got tired of me borrowing it all the time. So, he bought me one of my own, but the only version available was this older 1997 one. It's still an AMAZING resource in the kitchen, but I much prefer the 2006 edition. The 1997 edition is full of low fat options, which I find irritating since I mostly use it for baking (I want dessert, dig?). I don't feel it's as well organized as the newer edition - I do a lot more searching through the index. There are also way too many Christmas cookie recipes ... I like to make cookies all year! Another small quibble, the font is different and looks kind of overly 90s teen. I almost expect the i's to be dotted with hearts :) All that being said, I'm still a fan and would never consider taking this book out of my kitchen. Just wish he had splurged and bought me the 2006 edition!
