Somehow I must have missed this book when I was younger, even though I read most of Roald Dahl's books. Because of this I read this book for the first time being an adult of 30 years old and I can assure every one: this story still scared the crap out of me.
I loved reading this to the children i worked with, it took me back to being a child! Roald Dahl is genious!
Definitely one of my favourite books of all time! Roald Dahl was the author who really turned me on to reading. He delivers a story that is both funny and clever, gory and heartfelt, it sounds like a stretch, but he just seems to work that way.
