Aided by her tough bounty hunter pal, Ranger, and her funeral-happy Grandma Mazur, Stephanie's soon staggering knee-deep in corpses, trying to shake Morellifiand stirring up a very nasty enemy. (show less)

Boo. I am still unimpressed by this series. I just had an in-depth conversation with my aunt who loves these books and all I could say was that "I do not care what happens to any of the characters because I don't like any of them." That about sums up my feelings for the first two books, but alas I received the first 4 as a gift so I'll be starting book 3 shortly. I really want to like these books but so far, no dice. I really can't stand Lula, or Vinnie, Stephanie has her annoying moments, her mother is awful but I will give Grandma Mazur credit for being an interesting character.
I still have no idea why she continues to be a bounty hunter when she is really just terrible at it. She is just really lucky, or unlucky I guess. Maybe if I find out why she wants to be in this business I'll be more willing to accept the stories. (show less)

Without having the primer of “One For the Money” (the first in the Stephanie Plum books), I do not believe I would have enjoyed this book as much as I did. Janet Evanovich is still up to her old tricks of not really expounding in the details necessary to see the full picture and letting a lot of dialogue pass by undescribed. It is the quirky romantic filler that really allows you to feel for Stephanie Plum and root for her friend Morelli to finally have his way with her. You start to actually... (show more)

Janet Evanovich is still up to her old tricks of not really expounding in the details necessary to see the full picture and letting a lot of dialogue pass by undescribed. You start to actually care about everyone now that you know them and are glad to see familiar faces popping up again in the series.
Yes, this book is utter fluff. They ask you to believe a lot of hokey nonsense about funeral viewings and body parts being mailed (without the Post Office catching ANY inkling of it) and crazy hijinks involving our main character and her Uncle’s Buick. This is definitely not a “crime novel” or even a really good mystery series. It’s just pure comical fun.
I read “Two for the Dough” in one weekend and could barely put the book down. I wanted to know what was going to happen next and to see the sexual tension evolve between Joe Morelli & Stephanie. Even little Rex, the hamster, was taken along for the ride!
It’s all so silly but a guilty pleasure! Even with the “Annie Hall” dress on…. (show less)
