“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.”
–Psalm 23:5
There are some places where you just don’t expect to find God. For the men of the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, downtown Baghdad was one of those places. Moving into the heart of Iraq and ever deeper into enemy territory, they found themselves face-to-face with the ruthless Iraqi Republican Guard and Fedayeen militia. But when the smoke cleared, God’s touch was clearly visible.

A first rate read about God and his presence in the war in Iraq and in the troops lives! Truly inspirational.
Amazing book! Tells the amazing of how God was at work protecting our people in Iraq and touching their hearts.
Great TRUE story about God's presence in Iraq. This is a book for ALL Christians, whether Catholic or Protestant.
Wow! God is amazing. The author shares true stories about the Iraq war beginning. This brought a LOT of encouragement to me as an intercessor.
An amazing account of how God can act in the midst of a war and how he performs miracles still today.
Excellent account of some of the miraculous happenings during the invasion of Iraq as relayed to the author through the soldiers on the ground. Seems to make the question, "is God still doing miracles today?" a little bit easier to answer.
Awsome....real instances where God is seen in the battle's our soldiers faced while fighting in Iraq.
Excellent read about God's hand in the early days of the Iraq conflict... interesting insight into how much faith is really a part of our military.
I saw this book in CBD and asked Tonya to get it for me, she graciously bought it for me and sent it to me. I was curious if it was really going to have something to say, or would it be just a regular chaplain talking about what it was like to be deployed overseas in a war-zone. It was awesome, it was great, it was both. Chaplain Cash was with the first battalion of Marines that crossed the berm into Iraq when the ground war started. Like us, in the 319th, the men were regular guys doing extraordinary stuff, the same fears, the same concerns, the same tightening of the unit and spirituality arising in the midst of danger. Distinguished from them, they were in a fierce firefight and God really did protect them. They had it much worse, or intense I should say than we have since we are a support Battalion. Their danger was 3-4 weeks in duration, God’s deliverance was mighty. In contrast, our danger has been less intense, but dangerous nevertheless, mortars and convoy attacks. and we’ve been here for 4 months going on 12. Thank God for Chaplain Cash’s book. It’s a testimony to the high calling of a Chaplain, how God uses him and how God can use anyone put in an extraordinary circumstance if they will just look to him. I loved reading it, read it fast and was encouraged by it. Especially the story of setting the children free from the prison at Saddam city. Incredible. I would recommend it to anyone.
Amazing testimony to the power of God! Forget your politics for a bit. It's not about God taking a side; it's about God being with the individual in harrowing circumstances.
