The beloved sequel to Little Women, this classic continues the story of Jo March, who goes on to get married and inherit an estate with which she creates an experimental school for boys.

I had kind of hoped that this soppy moralistic aggregate would help me feel more sentimental about raising boys, but mostly, it made me dread the inevitable inclination toward violence and destruction, the experimental cruelty to animals, the disasters accomplished with the best of intentions. Sigh.
A little cheesy at times, but still cute. I actually laughed outloud at some of the baby language, haha. It was worth enough to read. I liked it. :)
This book, aside from being more preachy than "Little Women," is still a wonderful read for boys and girls alike.
For everyone who fell inlove with the character of Jo in Little Women, this is a must read. The story doesn't center around Jo, but rather her students, a dozen or so boys with a couple of girls thrown in for fun. I love Jo's philosophy on raising children, though reading this book is a very different experience once you've had children.
Just adored this book. I can still remember every word in it. It just never left my memory of special books. Would recommend it to any one.
One that I reread every couple of months... there are so many short stories in this one fluid book that I can reread it over and over! The stories and personality descriptions are so true-to-life that it reminds me of my young childhood and makes me smile. :)
Returning to this story as a parent gives me a new appreciation of how progressive the Plumfield School was! A happy tale of domestic life.
Can't wait to read it with my kids. Sweet story of the struggle of boys and the people who love their outrageousness! :-)
Not as good as Little Women, but it was fun to see how the characters progress. I would have liked more of the sisters, though.
quite good for the brainless read i so craved! of course there were some moments where i eeked out about the differing behavior expectations of children based on gender, but, hey, what else is new?
