I bought this book on a whim, didn't know anything about the series. This book ignited a new curiosity about what else this author could say. After reading the series in its entirety it speaks for itself - nothing I can say could add to what is there to make it better.
Not so fond of this one--Read through three quarters of the book, and got frustrated with the lack of Richard and Kahlan.
Went to a house party, found this book sitting around and got 60 pages into it before it was ripped out of my hands..."You have to go back and read it from the beginning!"
Totally lame book, Lousy story, Richard doesn't even show up until the last 50 pages.
Also, goodkind needs to stop with the whole "objectivist" pro freedom american ideal. Tell the story and let the subtext of the story proclaim your message of freedom and human spirit
Some people don't like this one but it's one of my favorites of the series, with new characters you don't have to re-read what's gone on in the past 6 books every couple of paragraphs for the first few chapters.
I think the series went wrong on this book, I've been trying to read this book since it came out maybe 5 years ago.
