From the moment you pick it up, you'll know it's a classic. The MacArthur Study Bible is perfect for serious study.

Dr. John MacArthur has collected his pastoral and scholarly work of more than 35 years to create the most comprehensive study Bible available. No other study Bible does such a thorough job of explaining the historical context, unfolding the meaning of the text, and making it practical for your life.

  • Hands down the most comprehensive study bible available today. No watered down feel good annotations here, just commentary on what the bible means to say. Not recommended for the liberal who has itching ears that he wants tickled.

it breaks my heart to know that he doesn't acknowledge the power of the Holy Spirit to glorify Jesus in our day as He did in the Scriptures. it breaks my heart to know that he doesn't acknowledge the power of the Holy Spirit to glorify Jesus in our day as He did in the Scriptures. I just find it dangerous that he claims this to be the only source needed for Bible study (on this book) ... that is not of the Lord. We should search out many sources and not just take one man's interpretation, b/c that is all this is. He doesn't believe in the gifts operating as Paul teaches, so why are they in "his" bible, b/c this isn't the Lord's bible. In the Lord's Bible, there are no side notes with man's opinons. It breaks my heart that millions of genunie believers have been mislead by this man's doctrine. If he has to take sciptures to disprove scripture, then I don't find his ministry credible. I believe the Word doesn't contradict itself, and that we should ask the Holy Spirit to help us discern and interpret the Word for what HE meant. Not take our circumstances and develop theology. Instead let our theology determine our reality. God is the same today yesterday and forever. The God of the BIBLE is all powerful, and desires everyone to know Him and to enter into a relationship of LOVE, intimacy (Jn. 17:26) John McAurthur's God is not the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob, the Prophets, Apostles and our Lord Jesus Christ. He denys the power of God, He doesn't permit the Lord to express Himself with "signs" and "wonders"... that is a fundamental way God points to Himself all throughout scriptures. There will always be the Scripture to read, but if the power of God doesn't confirm the message, people will not know the true God behind the Word they will only know the letter which kills and not the spirit that gives life. They will be decieved into "religion" and not relationship full of intimacy and the desire of our Lord to fellowship with man. (1 Cor. 4:20) Lord help us see that you are more real than concepts and intellectualism... bring us into you heart. Turn Mr. McAurthur towards you. Break His heart to see your power, glory, beauty. Remove from his life and teaching doctrines of demons. Show Him truth. Give to Him a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of your Son. Unfold your word, bring understanding to the simple, allow him to humble himself to know that HE doesn't have all the answers and that You are much bigger than He has ever imagined. Jesus you have perfect theology... remove the lies from your church, purify her and cleanse her to be found prepared, waiting, crying out for you to come and establish your Kingdom. Let people see your perfect leadership @ the end of the age. I love you Lord, bless this man and the people who follow his teachings, forgive them, for they have been deceived. Cause them to take these words and search for truth, with a spirit of prayer upon them daily until you break in with reality and concepts and false doctrines are removed. Thank you Lord that you will make the wrong things right. Bless you. Amen

if you desire to talk to me about anything I have said, I pray you know it was in sincere LOVE... my heart is burdened, and I will not allow deception to rob Jesus of His inheritance any longer. I love you all. Facebook me if you have genuine questions or concerns... i don't see argument or hate or bitterness being fruit of the spirit. (show less)
