A milestone of storytelling set in the world of The Sword of Truth, Debt of Bones is the story of young Abby's struggle to win the aid of the wizard Zedd Zorander, the most important man alive.
Abby is trapped, not only between both sides of the war, but in a mortal conflict between two powerful men. For Zedd, who commands power most men can only imagine, granting Abby's request would mean forsaking his sacred duty. With the storm of the final battle about to break, both Abby and Zedd are ... Fun side read about Zedd, but I was troubled by the incongruity over the age of Zedd's daughter
(Richard's mother) between this book and the series. Zedd's daughter is way too young to have been impregnated by Darken Rahl from the perspective of this book.
I read all eight of the Sword of Truth novels and this one and have the Chainfire Trilogy to read also. They were good enough to keep reading, but just barely. They are kind of trite and a little boring. Makes me wonder if they are meant to be young adult books??
This short novella is simply a more thorough account of the events leading up to "Wizard's First Rule", Goodkind's debut of the Sword of Truth series. It is more for the serious fans of the set, and does not add to the plot of the main story arc.
Short and sweet. Doesn't feel at all contrived (as prequels sometimes do). I wonder if Abby or any of the other characters will show up again in the main sequence. Next ... Chainfire.
Short and sweet, gives a little insight on a couple of the characters. Cute little read to pass a short while.
originally read this as part of a short story anthology collection. loved reading about Zedd when he was younger. good pre-quel
Although it didnt take long to read, it was so nice to learn a little more about Zedd who is one of my favourite characters in the Sword of Truth series, i would recommend reading this if you like Sword of Truth
If memory serves, this was a fairly small book, compared to the rest of the books in the Sword of Truth series. Good book
Woderful read about Zedd and the start of everything. I recomend it if you're a fan of the Sword of Truth series!
Thanks my most fabulous friend! And the book isn't about Adi as we all thought! haha. It's fab - I love Zed as a young man...so Richard-ish. And we love that right! It took me a couple of hours to read and interestingly has the formula of a short story - which I love!
