Map of Bones

Terrible. The DaVinci Code-esque plot line was further marred by unimaginative writing, a series of stereotypical characters, and an inordinate preoccupation with S&M. The male counterpart of a grocery store romance and equally unworthy of your time.
My first Sigma Force novel read- I went back and read every other book of his! This is one of my favorites.
Oh, this was such good book. It's not my favorite of the Sigma novels but even my husband read and loved this book. Let's just say he's not really into reading.
Much better than Sandstorm. Like Sandstorm it's another treasure hunt. Parts of the the novel seems to have been inspired by the Da vinci Code. I was not convinced by how the characters traced the treasure back to Avignon from Alexandria or as to how they discovered the meditaranean map's location based on a painting. The entry sequences based on the properties of metallic ores also left much to be desired.
One of the best history/spy/mystery books I have read! I think this book is much better than the Da Vinci Code! Super fun that will leave you reading late into the night!
My personal favorite of the Sigma Force Novels. Great action, excellent plot, and incredibly difficult to put down. I particularly loved the historical aspect and thought it blended surprisingly well with all the action.
I read this immediately after Rollins' Sandstorm. These are my "gym books," which means they're not-too-taxing on the brain and can be read while doing cardio. They fit the bill: All adventure, all the time. They're pretty formulaic, though. Mysteries and conspiracies, a crack team from a secret US program versus an evil organization with lots of money and connections, and double-crosses and betrayals by people you didn't expect--but that's only because you really didn't know them. The bad guys are always either one step ahead of or behind the good guys. And the bad guys are always bad, while the good guys are always good. *Yawn* People too easily fall in love. And while the women are smart and tough, they still need a man to rescue them--except for the woman leading the bad guys (yes, there's one in both books). She is tough-as-nails, and can come back from events that would kill anyone else. And did I mention that both books have a chapter called "Tomb Raider," as though that's the most clever title ever? So why do I keep reading them? I dunno. Shut up.
fab-u-las! so hard to put down! Rollins is an incredible writer, full of details and full of suspense!
It was predictable, but a fun read nonetheless. I am kind of addicted to this genre, and when I travel I try to consume these books. I usually stick to a few authors, and recently Rollins has made the cut.
Move over Dan "Da Vinci" Brown,James "Map of Bones" Rollins is here!! There exists a secret society of alchemists who believe they are superior to the rest of humanity and hence wish to change the world order so that they are the masters. The alchemists are harnessing the mysterious power present in the bones of the "magi" [i.e. the 3 wise men who came to bless baby Jesus] for this purpose.
Commander Gray of the sigma force is out to stop them with his team of two, an Italian policewoman and a spy from the Vatican. They travel across the 7 wonders of the ancient world seeking various clues/riddles and deciphering them. The logic behind deciphering the clues takes us on an enlightening journey through the birth of Christianity and its opposing groups.A truly amazing story.Deserves to be made into a movie by Ron Howard.
