Amazing. It was a story about loss, love, and life, a story told without being overly cliche or difficult to relate to.
I loved the use of the sculptures and the signs from her father. It shows a person can be dead, but never actually gone.
The way this book is written is amazing. It may not be the most amazing book you've EVER read, it can be slow at parts, and maybe a little "boring". But there is something there keeps you hooked, wanting to keep reading, not letting you put the book down until you're all the way through. It has a great moral, and it's one you can't forget. "For anyone of us our forever could end in an hour, or hundred years from now. You never know for sure, so you'd bettter make every second count"
this book is amazing. i think it could really hit home for so many teenage girls and would have helped me through a lot if i had it 2 years ago.
It's a really hard choice, but I do believe that this was my favorite Sarah Dessen book. It was amazingly written and I probably only put it down once. Sarah Dessen has a way of captivating her audiences to where they feel like they are part of the story...or maybe that's just me. But even if, Sarah Dessen is one of the best authors.
AMAZING!!!!! Sarah Dessen has done it again. This is possibly her best novel yet! I Loved it from the moment i started reading it. There is something magical about the way Dessen writes that just makes you feel so at peace with yourself and really makes you think about your own life (especially if you're a teenage girl). Dessen makes it so easy for every single girl who reads this novel to relate to the main character and she makes it impossible for anyone to finish this book without feeling better about yourself! This is possibly one of the best books i've read in my life!
Two thousand thumbs up!!!
This book is a simple, yet touching story about a girl named Macy. She was the kind of person who always tried to fulfill other people’s expectations, especially her mother’s. Although by doing so it meant that she had to sacrifice her own happiness, she still tried very hard to reach perfection in other people’s eyes. This manner started when his father suddenly died of heart attack. Instead of mourning in the regular way, she and her mother chose to repress their feelings of lost and sadness, and never talked about it instead. However, Macy could see that her mother was suffering as she was. Therefore, in order not to burden her-already-suffering mother, she tried really hard to be a perfect and obedient girl.
However, one day, when her mother was throwing a party for her business in their house, she met a highly disorganized and chaotic catering crew. Macy who didn’t like her summer job at the library decided to work at the Wish catering… There, she met a really nice—not to mention totally HOT—guy named Wes with whom she started to play the game of Truth. Wes and the other members of Wish catering taught her some important lessons about life. These lessons helped her in becoming a better and more mature person.
The Truth about Forever was the first Sarah Dessen book that I read… It was very good that I actively started searching for other books by her (which considering the country in which I live in is not a very easy thing to do). I love the way the author developed the main character; Macy seems so real with all her weaknesses and problems. This novel left a warm feeling in my heart, and it also taught me the lessons about how to live my life. I highly recommend it for everyone who likes the story about life and growing up.
one of my favorite books ever. this is the first book i've read by sarah dessen and because of this book, i really wanna read her books more. wes is an amazing character, i really wanna meet him in the real life. i am in love with wes :)
This is my favorite book ever. Very well-written and I can relate to Macy in the sense that I am also not exactly close to my Mom. And I want a Wes. :)
Oh and I got my favorite quote from this book, too. I just love it.
wow! this book is amazing. it does an awesome job of exploring the feelings of grieving teenager. while it may seem like another run-of-the-mill, dead-parent story, i find it a wonderful example of how messing up and being flawed can lead to more happiness than having a perfect, organized life ever could.
I enjoyed this book. It wasn't my favorite or desired choice of genre, but I am definitely glad that I read it. Wes was amazing! and I loved the rest of the characters as well as the themes that ran throughout the novel! :)
