The Case for a Creator: A Journalist Investigates Scientific Evidence That Points Toward God
Strobel, whose apologetics titles The Case for Christ and The Case for Faith have enjoyed strong popularity among evangelicals, approaches creation/evolution issues in the same simple and energetic style. Strobel, whose apologetics titles The Case for Christ and The Case for Faith have enjoyed strong popularity among evangelicals, approaches creation/evolution issues in the same simple and energetic style. The format will be familiar to readers of previous Case books: Strobel visits with scholars and researchers and works each interview into a topical outline. Although Strobel does not interview any "hostile" witnesses, he exposes readers to the work of some major origins researchers (including Jonathan Wells, Stephen Meyer and Michael Behe) and theistic philosophers (including William Lane Craig and J. P. Moreland). Strobel claims no expertise in science or metaphysics, but as an interviewer he makes this an asset, prodding his sources to translate jargon and provide illustrations for their arguments. At times, the interview format loses momentum as seams begin to show between interview recordings, rewrites, research notes and details imported from his subjects' CVs (here, Strobel's efforts at buffing his subjects' smart-guy credentials can become a little too intense). The most curious feature of the book—not uncommon in the origins literature but unusual in a work of Christian apologetics—is that biblical narratives and images of creation, and the significance of creation for Christian theology, receive such brief mention. Still, this solid introduction to the most important topics in origins debates is highly accessible and packs a good argumentative punch. (show less)

Garbage. The author is horribly biased. There is no objectivity. He flouts his interviewee's degrees in the readers face yet rarely states exactly what they have a degree in. Do a little more research and you will discover few of them have degrees in the subject matter for which they were interviewed. Jonathan Wells, who is one of the few that actually has a degree related to the subject matter, had is third degree actually financed by a church to "disprove evolution." For someone who claims to have been a skeptic, it seems he went to all of the "experts" that held views quite contrary to the wide-held beliefs of the scientific community. Lee Strobel is a sham. Great apologetic book - especially for someone who believes science supports evolution or who wants to bolster their faith. Many of the fallacies provided by mainstream textbooks that supposedly support darwinian evolution are shown for what they really. There are interviews and quotes from some very respected and intelligent scientists, many of whom were once either athiests or agnostics until they researched for themselves and put God to the test. I'm using this as research for a future sermon series but I encourage anyone to look into these claims for yourself. You might be surprised! (show less)

The Case for a Creator is a book that every Christian should read in order to provide an educated and competent answer to the question "How do you support your belief in God?"
Although atheists generally argue that belief in God is a primitive approach to explain the existence of the universe and life, and that modern science has disproved that approach, Lee Strobel successfully builds a case for the existence of God. Modern science actually affirms our belief in God.

Although atheists generally argue that belief in God is a primitive approach to explain the existence of the universe and life, and that modern science has disproved that approach, Lee Strobel successfully builds a case for the existence of God. Modern science actually affirms our belief in God.
While it is true that the scientific method cannot measure the existence of God, it is also true that the philosophical implications of modern science point toward an intelligent designer and creator of all things.
Other books by Lee Strobel that every Christian should read are The Case for Faith, The Case for Christ, and the Case for the Real Jesus. Each of these books adds a new kind of evidence and support for our belief in God and His Son Jesus Christ. (show less)
