I couldn't get into this book at all. (Maybe i'll try it again after reading the reviews here) I thought the writing was awful; far too passive and repetitive. The first ten pages were a slog for me. Coming off the back of a Carol Berg series, this book paled. Sorry, just my opinion. |

I read the whole Riftwar saga series on summer vacation about 20 years ago, and still remember some of the story. I loved the story and want to re-read it again. |

Feist's duology, of which this is the first, is a classic for any fantasy lover. Decently written and set in a world backdrop one can fall in love with. The fact that Feist borrowed this world setting from gaming friends and enhanced it even more with his own talent leads one to a great beginning of a great story. |
