This was a great book. The "mystery" was pretty easy to figure out, but I still enjoyed it. It was a quick read.
Blood Orange
Dana Cabot cannot remember the kind of person she was before May 29th, the day she became angry at God, at her workaholic attorney husband, and herself. The day her seven-year-old daughter, Bailey, disappeared. I liked this book but I didn't love it. I didn't particularly connect with any of the characters. In fact, the characters all seemed a little too contrived; Marsha Fillmore was flat and 2-dimensional, Lexi was a little unbelievable as a 6-foot-tall, red-headed, former model/turned priest; and David seemed a little unbelievable as a former professional football player/turned trial lawyer. I could see perhaps any one of these people, but all of these in one setting? Seems a little unlikely to me. Either that, or my life is extremely un-colorful. (My friends and acquaintances seem to be more of the garden variety -- and I mean that in a good way!) I also didn't care much for Dana who is the main character -- she seemed aloof and extremely selfish to me.
I did think the book was very well written, so I am giving it two and a half stars. (show less)

This gut-wrenching novel chokes you on every page. Its premise is every parent's & couple'e nightmare all in one; having said that, it is a must read. I really couldn't put it down. She faces parenting, friendships, & self-evaluation head-on with no fear. Don't let the topic shy you away!

Yet another just okay book..... Pretty predictable storyline, with no surprises. The main character, Dana, harbors too many secrets for her own good and makes poor decisions that affect everyone she knows. Her thoughts and subsequent choices about certain things, mainly her daughter and her affair, borderline on the "what the hell?" level. At least these were thoughts going through my head.... Not recommended.
