I'm going to date myself, but it's a short, nicely designed and illustrated version of "What Color is your Parachute." It's a very quick read and would make a good gift. There is a companion book that might be worth investigating.
"Your red rubber ball is what grabs you by the soul. It's what captures your imagination. It's what you do when no one tells you what to do, when you're alone in your room, on the playground or in your head, It's what you daydream, and that dream can becom your life's work...if you let it. AND YOU HAVE TO LET IT!"
Not only did I get to read this wonderful story - I got to hear Kevin speak at our Disney Leadership Conference last year. He is so truthful and engaging. I highly recommend that if you are starting to burn out or feel as though you have lost your passion, please read this book and you will find your baby barbell moment again.
First off, you can read this book in less than an hour. It is "children's book format", but, regardless, it's really nicely put together, and reinforces important things about your pursuit of work and life.
I generally don't read "self-help" books, but this was fun. And really, it's what you make of it. This really won't change my outlook. As with the other self-help book I read over ten years ago (What Color Is Your Parachute?), it says you should pursue what you like, what inspires you. And that you need to work hard at it, be creative in your pursuit of it. It's gimmicky for sure, but sometimes, that's what it takes to make a person's mind click. I like its general creativity of presentation.
For what it is, it's a very good book!
1. Commit to it
2. Seek out encouragers
3. Work out your Creative muscle
4. Prepare to shine
5. Speak up
6. Expect the unexpected
7. Maximize the day
Nice inspiration book
A great short read that brings back childhood memories. Very inspiring and challenging to seek and commit to our passion in life.
Very Very inspiring. The arrangement and the design and tactile sensation of the book is very "neurologically stimulating" ( if there is such a thing). VEry out of the box.
I loved this book, it definitely brings out artistic leadership. Warning: Not for analytical people :)
Kevin is one of the greatest people I've ever met. This book is great, but you really gotta catch him in person to truly "get it."
Great reminder to use, watch, play with, share, explore whatever you are passionate about in your life.
