I laughed out loud once every three pages while reading these interviews. They are hysterical in an oddly dark and sad way. Like his movies, his voice hits something very deep and fundamental and hidden in me; I've been unable to find another voice that hits that something. It's smart and frank, ironic yet extremely raw, so raw it hurts! And then again, it hurts without making me feel lost or abandoned. If you take it with several grains of salt, it's also just pleasurable light reading. Either way, a wonderful collection of interviews. |
